There are lots to do in Inverness and you can easily spend a day there. If just going to Kyle, you can take the afternoon train which will give you just enough time for an ice cream at the Fisherman's Kitchen, or to visit the Kyle Station Museum and shop.

Eilean Donan Castle is in Dornie, a short drive from Plockton.
As one of the most iconic images of Scotland, Eilean Donan is recognised all around the world. Now one of the most visited and important attractions in the Scottish highlands.

Glenelg to the Isle of Skye
If you carry on past Dornie you will come to Shielbridge. Stop here to try and buy some Chocolates of Glenshiel! Turnoff at Shielbridge and go up Mam Ratagan. You will feel like you're on top of the world looking out on some of the most spectacular scenery the Highlands have to offer. This high pass will take you to Glenelg, known for its beautiful scenery and Iron Age Brochs. Have lunch or dinner at Glenelg Inn If you are looking to have dinner booking is essential. There are so many things to see and do on the Isle of Skye. It will be impossible for me to mention them all. You can find lots of ideas here at Visit Scotland

Elgol and Coruisk
I can however recommend a day trip to Elgol and Coruisk. This quaint little village will take your breath away. You can take a boat trip from Elgol to loch Coruisk. Stop off at Amy's Place (check opening times) in Torrin for coffee and amazing cake!

Visit Sleat on the Isle of Skye
Sleat is nicknamed the garden of Skye. I can recommend a visit to
An Crùibh for lunch or coffee and cake, or a little further down the road you can visit the Torabhaig Distillery and their cafe and courtyard garden.
Or visit the Armadale gardens - explore spectacular gardens set around the romantic ruins of Armadale Castle.

Ferry from Armadale pier
to Mallaig
A trip on the ferry from Armadale pier to Mallaig is a must. You can go as a foot passenger on the ferry and back. The views are stunning and if you are lucky you might see the dolphins. You could also go by car and explore Mallaig and The Sands of Morar, which are beautiful. Always check the service status before you travel.

Visit the visitor centre and
LAS - The Isle of Skye's leading cinema, theatre and events venue. Or enjoy a pizza from Gasta - the newly renovated Restaurant, Bar and Pizzeria.
